Zorbing in New Zealand

Zorbing definition from Wikipedia (yes, I’m citing from Wikipedia): Zorbing is the recreation or sport of rolling downhill inside of an orb, generally made of transparent plastic. Invented in 1994 in Rotorua, New Zealand.

Basically, you shove yourself in a human-sized hamster ball and roll down a hill.  It might be up there on the list of ridiculous things we’ve done, but Christopher and I did just that in Rotorua, New Zealand, the place where zorbing was invented. We didn’t plan on doing it, but we got an alert through the Bookme.co.nz website that they were running a deal the following morning. It was a good deal, so we had to do it, right?

I’ll let the video explain the rest, but I will say if you are going to New Zealand, flexible on time, and interested in deals on activities, www.bookme.co.nz is pretty awesome.

Love from Tanzania,

Cathleen & Christopher
